Setting the price for a work proposal can be challenging, raising many doubts and questions.


To facilitate this process, I developed this tool that, through a simple and practical methodology, guides you in defining the ideal price and creating the proposal.

Methodology for calculating Freelancer prices

The first step is to determine how much you want to earn as a freelancer, below:

Some examples of values that can be used are:

  • Average salary for your category (e.g., average salary of a senior software engineer)
  • Your current salary
  • An amount lower than what you currently earn, but that you would like to have as extra income.
  • The amount you believe is fair!

These values are only for reference so you can build your final price, considering other factors such as urgency (see more below in the calculator).
